Pak pilgrims to pray for peace at Ajmer dargah

ATTARI:A 250-strong group of Pakistani pilgrims will pray for peace and pay homage to those who died in the terror attacks on America, at the dargah of Sufi saint Moinuddin Chisti, in Ajmer, on Sunday.

"we are here to pray for world peace," said sagheer ahmed,leader of the group which arrived here by the samjhautha express from lahore on friday on their way to ajmer in rajasthan.

the pilgrims, for whom the indian railways have made special arrangements, were tightlipped about the taliban or the involvement of osama bin laden in the attacks in new york and washington. "our pilgrimage this year is for peace," ahmed said.the world could progress only in a peaceful atmosphere,he added. another member of the group said if bin laden was responsible for the terrorist strikes, he should be arrested. "but an entire nation (afghanistan) cannot be held responsible for his actions," he said, on condition of anonymity. the pilgrims expressed their sympathies with the families of those killed in the attacks and said they would pray for them. pakistani pilgrims visit ajmer and the dargah of nizamuddin in new delhi every year.
